Chili Bun
Hide your buns in the steamer, bid how many you dare to eat, and don't bite the chili.

Best with a TV

A bluffing game for 3 to 6. Everyone has four steamed buns that look the same from outside: three plain, one with a fiery chili. Put buns in your steamer face down, then bid how many you can eat without biting a chili. The highest bidder eats their own buns first, then picks from the others. Eat it all twice to win the pair of golden chopsticks. Bite a chili and you lose a bun, and only you know which.
How to play Chili Bun
Goal
- Eat the bid twice without biting a chili, and win the pair of golden chopsticks. Or be the last one with buns.
How it works
- Everyone has four buns that look the same from outside: three plain, one with a chili. Only you see yours.
- Each round, everyone puts one bun in their steamer. Then, in turn, add another bun or open the bidding.
- A bid is how many buns you'll eat from all the steamers. In turn, raise it or pass. Once you pass, you're out of the bidding.
- The highest bidder eats: one bun at a time, from the top of a steamer.
- Your own steamer comes first, from the top, until it is empty or the bid is reached. The app bites them for you.
After eating
- Eat the whole bid without a chili: a golden chopstick. The second one wins.
- Bite a chili and you lose a bun. If it was someone else's, they pick one of your buns blind. If it was yours, you choose. Only you know what you lost.
- Lose every bun and you're out.
- The eater starts the next round. If they went out, the chili's owner starts.
House rules
- Lucky Bun: down to one bun after a chili, you get a plain bun everyone knows about, for one round, once.
- With a timer, the game moves for a player who runs out of time.

Questions and answers
How many people can play?
3 to 6. It is best with 4 to 6, when there are more faces to read.
Why must I eat my own buns first?
That is the heart of the game. If you hid your chili and bid high anyway, you bite it yourself. The app bites your own buns for you, one by one, so nobody can skip it.
Can anyone see which bun I lost?
No. The server shuffles your buns for a blind pick, and only your phone says what you lost. Everyone else just sees one bun fewer.
Do we need the shared screen?
No. Every phone shows the steamers too. A shared screen makes each bite big for the room, and phones can then show just your buns and your moves.
