Best with a TVPlayed sideways

A co-op platformer for the whole room. Every phone becomes a gamepad and the TV shows one shared level with everyone's critter on it. Stand on each other's heads to reach the key, push the heavy block into the spike pit together, ride the lift as a team, then get every last critter through the door. Fall on the spikes and the whole team starts again. Each level is built for the size of your group, every critter has its own hat, and everyone gets an award at the end of the chapter. Needs a TV or a laptop as the shared screen.
How to play Door Jam
Goal
- Get every critter through the door, together.
How it works
- Your phone is a gamepad: ◀ ▶ to walk, Jump to jump. Critters are solid: you can stand on heads, and jumping lifts whoever stands on you.
- Touch the key to pick it up. Whoever holds it opens the door.
- At the open door, press ▲ to go in. The level is cleared when everyone is inside.
- Spikes and falling off send the whole team back to the start. Gentle mode sends back only the critter that fell.
Things that need a team
- A heavy block shows how many critters must push it at once. Push it into a pit and it becomes floor.
- A red button needs that many critters (or a block) standing on it to open its gate.
- A lift rises when enough critters ride it.
The TV
- This game needs a shared screen: a TV or a laptop paired with the room.
- Phones on the same Wi-Fi as the TV talk to it directly (⚡). Any other phone plays through the server (🐢), a little slower.
- For the least lag: an HDMI cable, the TV's Game Mode, and no casting.
Stars and awards
- Each level gives up to 3 stars: one for clearing it, one for beating the par time, one for no restarts.
- At the end of the chapter, everyone gets their own award.

Questions and answers
How many people can play?
2 to 8, each on their own phone. Every level has a layout for small (2 to 3), medium (4 to 5) and large (6 to 8) groups.
Why does it need a TV?
The level only exists on the shared screen: phones are just gamepads. Open the room on a TV or a laptop and pair it before you start.
Will it lag?
When the phones and the TV are on the same Wi-Fi, a press reaches the TV in a few milliseconds. A phone that can't connect directly still plays through the server, a little slower, and is told how to fix it. Use an HDMI cable and the TV's Game Mode, not casting.
What happens if someone falls on the spikes?
The whole team starts the level again, and the culprit wears a bandage. The host can switch on Gentle mode, where only that critter goes back.
